Lillian Simmons

Nickola Sybblis - Founder and Principal Attorney

Known by her clients and colleagues as a zealous, compassionate, and dedicated advocate, Nickola N. Sybblis works to ensure each client’s legal matter is resolved with the best possible outcome. Sybblis Law Firm, LLC (SLF) was established with two fundamental cornerstone principles; provide zealous advocacy and exceptional service to each client. SLF focuses primarily on handling all aspects of family law matters; including but not limited to divorce, custody, child support, adoptions, guardianships, name change, and modifications.

Prior to establishing SLF, Ms. Sybblis spent several years working as a Supervising Attorney at a medium-sized firm located in Baltimore City where she gained significant experience practicing family law, personal injury, Child in Need of Assistance, and complex civil litigation. Ms. Sybblis believes in giving back to the community and demonstrates this by volunteering on different pro-bono projects such as Anne Arundel County’s Homelessness Day and the Lawyer in the Library program. She also represents pro-bono clients through the Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Services (MVLS).

Ms. Sybblis is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Anne Arundel Bar Association, James C. Cawood, Jr. American Inns of Court, and the Alliance of Black Women Attorneys. She serves as the co-chair of the community services division for the Anne Arundel Bar Association and was awarded the President’s Pro Bono Service Award for 2019-2020.

Ms. Sybblis earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law and a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Relations and Political Science from the University of the West Indies.

In addition to being a fierce advocate, Ms. Sybblis is a wife and a mother. Her greatest joy comes from spending time with her family.

Lillian Simmons - Attorney

Lillian was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She was able to create her degree to align with her career path and explore topics that were more holistic for her future clients, including topics related to psychology, sociology, and law. Lillian obtained her law degree (Juris Doctorate) from the University of Maryland School of Law. During law school, she worked at several firms, including Sybblis Law Firm, LLC, and participated in multiple clinical programs where she was able to work firsthand with clients and students as a student attorney. Upon graduation, she was awarded The Anne Barlow Gallagher Prize for Service to Children and Youth. After law school, Lillian clerked in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Lillian worked for the federal government for several years but has since returned to practice family law and rejoin the family at Sybblis Law Firm, LLC.

In addition to her professional experiences, Lillian also comes from a large family so she is no stranger to the array of issues that may arise due to relationships, marriage, adoption, or other life events. She is well-versed in handling these sensitive issues with the required care, empathy, and attention to detail.
